Confirmed from Schiller Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I have a long, lingering fondness for this park dating back to about 1992. I lived in the nearby Rugby Square Apartments while my then girlfriend attended school at SU. It was a rough time, a recession and I was fresh out of college and had to take and hold down a couple different jobs to make ends meet.

My kids love the sprinklers since they're too small to swim in the pool,..then running to the playground to soak up some rays ☀️ for more fun & enjoyment. There's a nice shaded picnic table at the playground area as well for parents to watch over the kids & whole playing area. The park is really nice overall!

I found this park walking a few weeks ago and was shocked. I discovered it as I walked North on Butternut Street since you can see the approximately 11 feet tall statues of the parks patriarchs, German poets Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller from Butternut.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
