Confirmed from Schuylkill River Trail Pawlings Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Schuylkill River Trail Pawlings Road Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (44 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Usually it's pretty busy and parking is relatively full, but it's close to a shaded area on the SRT en-route to Philadelphia.”

Very accessible trailhead with ample parking for an estimated 50 vehicles. Convenient access point to the main Schuylkill River Trail and the connecting Perkiomen and Audubon Trails. Only drawback of this trailhead is the lack of any lighting so it gets pitch dark once daylight is completely gone.

★★★★☆ — Heder98 , Aug 2017

This is one of my favorite trailheads. You can head onto the Audubon Loop Trail from here or get on the Schuylkill River Trail and Perkiomen Trails. Great place to run, walk and bike with lots of shaded areas.

★★★★★ — Samara , Jun 2019

This trailhead is an excellent place to get outside, with the kids, with the dogs, with a bike, or even by yourself, for a nice long run. The trail here is fully paved in both directions and it's very easy to connect between the Perkiomen Trail, the SRT, and the Autobahn Loop.

★★★★★ — Ben , Mar 2024

This is a good put in the spot for the North End of Valley Forge Park across the road that few people see. It's also right near the start at the Perkiomen Trail and positioned on the Schuylkill River Trail. You can do a 4 and 1/2 Mile loop on the Audubon Loop.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
