Confirmed from Scioto Grove Metro Park Upper Canoe Access' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Scioto Grove Metro Park Upper Canoe Access

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (22 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Although I didn't go canoeing or kayaking, this is a great place to start hiking the River Trail and take the trail south.

★★★★★ — Rjd , Feb 2025

Great place to walk with your dog in relative shade but the river. I have seen ppl putting in there kayaks and there is a good place to get it and a turn around if you want to take your car down to the put in. It's nice in cool on hot summer days, no bathroom at the put in.

★★★★★ — Lisa , May 2024

A great place to put in or take out. Plenty of parking. If the gate is shut. There is a bit of a hike from the lot to the river. From the Greenlawn dam to Scioto Grove you can get a nice 61/2 mile paddle in.

★★★★★ — Brent , Jul 2023

Great place for nature walking and bird viewing. Wide, we'll kept trails, picnic areas and fishing spots. Come early April to see the Blue Bells bloom

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
