Great paved trail that runs from Tempe town lake to North Scottsdale around Westworld. It avoids riding on main roads using bridges and underpasses to get by. It's beautiful and well maintained. The path runs through parks, golf courses, and several restaurants/bars to stop at along the way.
I can’t say enough good things about this multi-use infrastructure. I’ve commuted to work by bicycle in every city and town I’ve ever lived in, including a small quiet island in Florida... and this is still the best bike commute I’ve ever had. All the rolling hills and golf courses, fountains and gorgeous landscaping..
The Greenbelt Path is great for recreational cyclists who want both a scenic and safer ride, avoiding vehicular traffic. This path can take you from Tempe Town Lakes near ASU to Shea Blvd in Scottsdale, about 12 miles.
You can ride this path and it's many linked paths for miles and miles. Winds through or next to desert, golf courses, baseball field, ball parks, volleyball courts, skate parks, shopping malls, resorts, canals, swimming pools, etc.
