There’s construction at the very start of the trail but once you get past it the trail is so nice!! If it rains the day prior, make sure to stay on the main trail, since the smaller trails collect puddles easier. I came across a fresh paw print that was massive.
The last time I went there I was on the yellow trail a little over 3/4 of the way to the kayak launch and seeing a family of boar, two adults and an adolescent, I have never seen a boar in the wild, it was pretty exhilarating and lucky for me they were running away from me
Wow! What a ton of history and some nice fun facts I learned today. I ended up finding a few ticks on me after the hike which is normal, so just check yourself after your hike. The yellow flies are not so bad here compared to other places I've been.
I absolutely adore this preserve! The trails are so well maintained and there are some very beautiful areas. It's dog friendly, it's bike friendly, it's got canopied trails perfect for hot days. It's so peaceful except for the planes flying over loudly from time to time. Every time I visit I notice something new.
