Confirmed from Sennett's Hole's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Sennett's Hole

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“With absolutely beautiful nature, a great swimming hole, and great hiking trails, what’s not to love?”

Beautiful spot on the Eno River. Fairly easy hike, about 10 minutes from the south side parking area. Parking is very very limited. Great swimming area where the river widens into a large and deep pool. Lots of little pools of water where kiddos can safely enjoy. Watch out for snakes on the trail and even in the water.

For over a year, I've been looking for a place where I can swim with my dog, and I've finally found one! Turtle Hole is a great place to walk your dog off lead and there's a large pond where you can swim together.

★★★★★ — Holly , Jul 2018

It is a gorgeous swimming hole on the Eno. With the rocky rapids forming a water slide it is great fun to hike out and swim with the family. Though it does get quite crowded on Saturdays. Just be sure to bring water shoes because there is some sharp rocks in the water.

Dog friendly swim spot to cool off in! We just park in the neighborhood and walk. The hike in is very short and easy. It’s mostly rocks to chill on, rather than dandy beach. I love the flowing water and tiny waterfall as well as the big pool. It’s not very deep.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 18 mentions

“The neighborhood on the west side of Sennett’s Hole now has No Parking signs on the entire street, so I was not able to park there.”
