Confirmed from Sheehan Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Serene park with sports fields, a playground & seasonal wildflowers, plus cross-country ski trails.
What runners say about Sheehan Park
“The playgrounds and fields are well kept and a great place to take the kids.”
“Beautiful park with a large playground.”
“The view is scenic and serene.”
Sheehan park is spacious. It has a good walking trail. I have seen people from different communities using this park for different sporting activities. It is well maintained throughout the year. Water fountain has not been working for several months and needs to be installed in more places in the park.
Great park! Sheehan is the largest park in Sun Prairie. It has a large playground, wildflower garden, gazebos that can be reserved through Sun Prairie Parks and Recreation, and a multi-use trail that is available year round. It's also home to several baseball parks, basketball courts, and soccer fields.
Here for the weekend for a softball tournament. Concessions using cash was available during the weekend. The park is huge. Lots of grass & places for kids to run & play on the playground equipment. Parking near the park is available on a first come basis. Otherwise parking is available in the lot across the street.
Great mountain bike and hiking trails on the south end of the park past the baseball diamonds and skate park. A full size Soccer field and sand volleyball are available as well. Paved walking paths as well as dirt paths for hiking and biking are available. Overall a nice large park.
