Confirmed from Shiawassee Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (656 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“a beautiful park, and the different parking lots mark different sections that are all seperate so it never gets too loud or crowded :)”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“A really beautiful and tranquil park that offers so many benches, tables, playscapes, a covered gazebo area- lots to do for all ages!”

Fenced playground for secured play, swinging benches for adults and tire swings for kids are cool things in the play ground. The river with ducks is loved by kids & they can actually get in water for play. You can bring birdseed for ducks too!

What an awesome big cozy laid-back park. Tennis court baseball diamonds and new baby ducks swimming in the stream. playscapes, picnic tables plenty of pathway to jog or run or walk take your dogs out for stroll. or your children out and let them get tired so they will sleep.

If you’ve ever dreamed of standing before the majesty of the Grand Tetons but only had an afternoon and a tank of gas that’s half full, Shiawassee Park in Farmington Hills is your personal miracle of nature.

★★★★★ — Joshua , Nov 2025

We love this park. It has a beautiful stream that runs through and it has a large family of ducks that live here. The request that I would like to mention... PLEASE do not have your children run up to the ducks or frighten the ducks. This is their environment and please keep the children away from the ducks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 15 mentions

“In addition, the park has dog stations with garage bags and garbage cans, please dispose of your dog waste and don’t leave it there for others to step on.”
