We stopped here on a whim, and we're very pleasantly surprised! So much wilderness to explore. They do have beautifully carved our trails, land bridges, and several paths, but we went exploring in the woods, the water is beautiful, tons of trees.. truly, it was great to disconnect and enjoy nature fully.
rented a kayak and spent the morning enjoying the nature with a few wildlife sightings here and there. Absolutely beautiful scenery with lots of shade from sun, overgrowth was very pretty and almost made us forget we were right inside an otherwise typically normal small town city block.
Great place to see what Central Florida was like before all the commercial "attractions " came to the area. The trails are easy for all age and ability groups. It's a great place to rake your dog for a walk through the forest.
We rented a kayak ($40 and it was really easy to do, and the guy was really nice and helpful!) And we brought our own for the other half of the group. The launch is right by the parking, there's a public restroom and picnic tables right there too.
