Confirmed from Shipley Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Scenic

Opened in 1974, this 18-acre fenced nature preserve features native plants & animals, plus trails.

Here’s yet another natural addition to Huntington Central Park! This beautiful section of the park is open to the public on select days and hours, as with the summertime programs. Here it’s possible to see the nursery with native plants, learn methods of conservation, composting and vermiculture.

Free nice nature reserve located in Huntington Beach. They do ask for a $3 donation which helps maintain the area. It is open on a walk in basis Tue, Fri, and Sat from 9am-1. You can schedule a field trip for children outside of the walk in hours listed.

The Shipley Nature Center is such a wonderful place to visit and take a nice long walk. I took my toddler and she enjoyed the scenery and nature walk. There are lots of places to sit and just enjoy the surroundings as well as various paths to take throughout the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
