Confirmed from Skagit River Park Sports Complex Playfields' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (839 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“Easy freeway on/off, great play structure, clean restrooms and a big grassy field to play chase.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Really beautiful trees and great place to walk the dike either with a friend or your pup!”

Really beautiful trees and great place to walk the dike either with a friend or your pup! Not really any safe direct access to the water right there, probably have to walk a ways till you can find one.

★★★★☆ — Tasha , Mar 2024

Great walk along the river Duke, especially as the sun sets. Great for biking too. Summer you can get down to the sand bar and do some swimming or fishing. Spectacular views for being inside the city. The park itself hosts big sporting events on weekends with some even camping.

★★★★☆ — Jr , Sep 2025

Ample parking, clean bathrooms, and clean facility. Can be busy at times, but there are always places to get away and enjoy nature or play on the playground. Couple different entrances. Great place to exercise your dog (not fenced). Huge sports fields and a place to garden. Walking trail above.

★★★★★ — Melissa , Apr 2026

Huge and multiple fields, great to run around on a quiet day, exciting when there are events going on. Lots of parking, facilities, and a medium sized playground. Stop by here on occasion to mix it up for the kids.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 8 mentions

“This place is great and very busy try to get here early if you want to find a good parking spot as this does get very busy.”
