Confirmed from Sky Ranch Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a grassy area, benches and a playground for kids.
What runners say about Sky Ranch Park
“It has a nice field, a sidewalk for walking, nice play equipment for younger and older children, picnic benches, a great view, and even a little gate to keep children inside.”
Very nice little play area and a good sized grass area to run around in, too. As with most housing community parks, there is no bathroom, so plan on that. Plenty of sitting area, barbeque, water fountain. Nice little area.
Take a hike up to Sky Ranch Park. Tough getting there, but once you reach it, it truly is a little gem
We love this park! It has a nice field, a sidewalk for walking, nice play equipment for younger and older children, picnic benches, a great view, and even a little gate to keep children inside. The only thing we wish it had are bathrooms (that is why we rate it 4 stars instead of 5).
Trail conditions & character
“It has a nice field, a sidewalk for walking, nice play equipment for younger and older children, picnic benches, a great view, and even a little gate to keep children inside.”
“No restrooms but the trade-off being it doesn't attract as many "bad actors" as having a restroom and maintaining it might get expensive.”
“No parking lot or restrooms, probably because it is meant to be just for the houses around it.”
“I like to look out over the city lights and think existential thoughts as I suffer from the call of the void”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
