Confirmed from Slater Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tennis courts, bike trails, & picnic sites fill this park with seasonal events & the Looff Carousel.
What runners say about Slater Memorial Park
“The pond in the middle of the park is quite beautiful and attracts a lot of fishers, although I doubt they end up getting too many bites.”
“We try to stick to those trails because they are so peaceful and comforting but when we're in a rush, we usually stick to the dog park or to doing loops in and around the park.”
I have been coming here since I was a kid and my fur kid LOVES it here. There are so many nice and safe places to walk all around the park so I frequent here often with the pups. I love the 10 mile river walk and bike path they have in the park and Leia loves the side trails surrounding it.
Slater park is one of my favorite parks for quick hikes and visits. They have the cutest little farm w animals and the woman Dale who takes care of them is super friendly and will hold the animals for you so you can pet them. Great place for kids and adults.
This is a great park to walk and relax. I see a few negative reviews. This park like most places will get busy during summer nights and weekends. For the most part, Slater Park is a beautiful place to be. I try to get my walks in early. I was there the last two evenings and it was peaceful.
We went mostly for an new area to walk and it didn't disappoint. We got a nice walk in and found out all about the different areas of Slater Park. It was a lot bigger than we thought with two ways to drive into the park.

“You can rent spaces, there’s a good size parking lot (but it does fill up) We were able to throw a perfect gender reveal party here.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
