Sleeping Giant Blue, White and Yellow Trail... This is not a trail to take lightly. Hiking boots are recommended as some areas are muddy. Bring plenty of water and food. There are several scrambles, the pictures do not do justice. Anyway, this was my first hike of the year and 2 days later, my legs were really sore.
We had an amazing experience hiking the Sleeping Giant Trail! We completed the 5.1-mile long trail, and it was a perfect mix of fun, scenic views, and light adventure. We started from the West Parking Area and hiked up to the Observation Tower.
One of the top spots in CT! Trails vary from very easy, flat, and wide all the way to steep, rocky, and difficult. The mountain features a good amount of trails.
Such a great little park! There is a nice easy walk up to an observation tower that is built like a little castle. The kids loved it when they were little. There are loads of very challenging hikes with great views along a set of cliffs. The woods are primarily hardwoods like maple and oak and ash and beech.
