We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Southgate Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Clean green space featuring a basketball court, a playground and an exercise area.
What runners say about Southgate Park
“I come to park all the time, it's well maintained.”
My daughter and I like this park. Its updated look and equipment is great for young and old. There's also a walking trail with exercise equipment, a basketball court and a jungle gym that is definitely fun to climb about on. It's a nice park in a quiet neighborhood.
I was passing through this neighborhood on the south side of Margate after a tag sale and when I saw how nice and new looking this park was so I had to stop and check it out. This park was recently renovated over 8 months when the city received a $200.
I come to park all the time, it's well maintained. It has a half mile track, outdoor exercise equipment, a small double ended basketball court, and playground set. The hours are from Sunrise to Sunset. It's a good option for small children ages 2+.
I walk and exercise 2 to 3 times a week at Southgate Park. Margate does a great job of maintaining the Park. Dog walkers need to clean up after their pets. It might help if it was posted, No Dogs Allowed! Instead of animals not allowed.
