Confirmed from Spooner Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Neighbourhood green space, featuring a playground and an annual festival with food, drinks and games.
What runners say about Spooner Park
“The picnic area was clean, the grill of the pavilion was cleaned up, the tables were in good shape.”
“There are beautiful trails to walk and the playground is well kept.”
One of the best parks in the area. It's usually shaded and hosts the annual Canadian days festival. There are beautiful trails to walk and the playground is well kept. There are plenty of benches and picnic Pavilion to enjoy!
This is a great neighborhood park, and its adjacency to the elementary school and the fire station trails amplify its recreational value. The pavilion is roomy with great cooking options including a brick chimney and outdoor grills. The kitchen space is also roomy; easy to have multiple people working in at once.
Lived her most of my life. They have done alot to modernize the park. It's a nice place to walk around with paths and a play ground for kids. Definitely alot better then the old 80s stuff I had as a kid
This is a fantastic park, practically brand new playground for the kids, which they love and brand new Pickleball courts, which are a little bit far away from the playground, but within walking distance. I do wish the Pickleball courts were closer to the playground so that I can see the kids are safe at the playground.
Trail conditions & character
“Not sure what the park is like without all the food trucks and beer garden, but the bathroom and water fountain were in good working order and ballfield was getting a nice workout.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
