Confirmed from Spring Lake Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A large tract of undeveloped meadow & wooded land featuring natural-surface trails.

These are some really cool trails. Highly recommend, it's a little over 4 miles long but it's an easy hike. Lots of side trails not marked as official paths. So pay attention if you are trying to keep it short and sweet.
Well kept trails, predominantly shaded, very little traffic (this Sunday afternoon, at least). We got in 5 miles and probably saw fewer than 15 other folks and 3 or 4 dogs. Trails are mostly pretty easy, with some moderate hills here and there.
We enjoyed it immensely. There were a number of families with small kids like ourselves, and the trails proved to be easy enough for everyone to navigate. Well maintained (clean) and the trails heads are clearly marked with additional markers along each one. Will be visiting again
Spring Lake Natural Area offers many trail options and activities including glass bottom boat tours.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
