Confirmed from St. Joe State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This park permits vehicles such as motorcycles & snow mobiles, plus offers lake swimming & trails.
What runners say about St. Joe State Park
“Shower houses are clean, but the water timers are annoying, they could bump that up by 10 seconds.”
“Decided to do the hike by the lake which was beautiful!”
This was a much larger Park than I expected. I also had no idea that it was a very popular place for off-road vehicles. We selected the campground closer to the off-road vehicle area which includes 54 mi of off-road trails. The campground was large and spacious.
Stopped by during my road trip and it was worth it. Park includes several day use area with a decent size lake. Decided to do the hike by the lake which was beautiful!!! You can see early signs of fall and beautiful trees with different shades of green and some orange colors.
This park has it all! Camping, a lake with awimming area, horse riding trails, cycling trails. Wooded utv, atv, and motorcycle trails and sand dunes. It was a slightly rainy day, which made for some fun riding with less dust. We hit the puddles until we were soaking wet!
Nice camp sites, good riding. Shower houses are clean, but the water timers are annoying, they could bump that up by 10 seconds. Good trails, we went off the main trail a lot to find some awesome hill climbs. If you are a beginner, you can hang out in the sand at the bottom open area.
Trail conditions & character
“It's an okay trail with views of the lake for the first about 3/4 mile.”
“We also always use the concrete loading ramps to make things simple and quick.”
“Good trails, we went off the main trail a lot to find some awesome hill climbs.”
“If you like the hill climbs, head toward the wooded areas and don't be afraid to run the ravines to find a ton of hill climbs.”
