Confirmed from St. Mihiel Woods-East's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

My wife and I walked both trails - the one that loops south of of 167th and the one which is north of a 167th (there is a tunnel that goes under the street) and takes you by the Midlothian Detention Reservoir. Both trails are excellent and covered by plenty of trees so there is plenty of shade.

My old stomping grounds since the 80s. Love all of it & horses been around here even before then, to those who complain. They do have paved trails in the area if these are to messed up for ya! 😁

★★★★★ — Tracy , Nov 2020

Very nice set of quiet, secluded, and shaded trails. The paths here double as a horse trails which lead to Forest View Farms. The South-East Brown and partial Blue Trail loop runs just over 1 mile. The North-East path to and from Lockwood Avenue is also about 1 mile round-trip.

★★★★★ — Andrew , Sep 2025

It's remote and a pleasant walk. But a) i forgot it had rained 2 days before, 2) the path is unpaved, and 3) it does have horse traffic, so on a wet path droppings were a serious obstacle. As I say, it is an attractive trail. But we'll wait for drier conditions.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
