For a city park near a freeway. Is an amazing little nature gym. Gorgeous November day hiking along Eagle Creek, which is lined with magestic Sycamores and other old growth trees.
Starkey Park is a great choice if you want to hike by the river and have a slightly more rugged experience in the woods. The trails are marked well in some spots and on others like trail 2, it is easy to lose the trail and get lost. Beware of hiking after rainfall.
Beautiful park to hike with dog. We saw deers, turtles and beautiful birds. The trails is long but not difficult. This will be one of our favorite park. my dogs can’t walked on the metal stairs (SP 1)but they have wood stairs on others side (SP 3).
Maintained rugged-terrain woodland hiking with scenic stops along the creek. Connecting trails to the adjacent Zionsville Rail Trail. Not stroller or wheelchair accessible.

“We saw a few people fishing in the river and having their dogs run into the water + the old railroad bridge is bikeable (the rest of the park is not for bikes!”
