Confirmed from Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge (Kiosk)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil refuge featuring gravel trails for easy hiking and walking while watching birds and other wildlife.

The refuge has reopened as of May 1st, 2022. New trails have been constructed and some have been redesigned. The River Trail (Dike Trail) is the only one open to bikes and horses. The other trails are strictly for hiking.
Nice place for a hike. Lots of fields, wetlands, and birds. 2 bridges that go over water. the main trial connects to a trail that follows the Columbia River. Would be a great hike in September when it's not too hot. Has a gravel parking lot, 2 bathrooms (not Porto potties) and a map at the trailhead. Highly recommend.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
