Confirmed from Stony Ledge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Easy hike up the roadway, sometimes steep but very beautiful and doable up from the farm. We enjoyed this portion of the hike more than the Greylock summit since it was so much quieter. Such a lovely place to be.

★★★★★ — Jessica , Oct 2020

Beautiful views! Only accessible by hiking about 45 minutes on a gravel path, assuming you park on the mountain (only an option from June through Nov 1)

★★★★★ — Daniel , Oct 2021

Stony Ledge trail. Nicer and less populated trail to a summit. On the the top there’s a very relaxing view to Greylock Mountain, with a nice spot to sit and eat.

★★★★☆ — Elad , Jul 2020

Great hiking area with clean brooks, nature and fresh air. Some of the hiking is steep and strenuous.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
