Confirmed from Stony Run Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“It has a large open area to run, good sized playground for the little ones, a stream to calm yourself, some trees for climbing, and a nice rope/tire swing.”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 3 mentions

“Dogs are very welcomed and there's a lot of trees if you don't like to stay under the sun too much.”

A little piece of country in the middle of the city. The walking trail and creek were a source of adventure for my 11-year-old son and his friend, who were visiting it for the first time. There are several opportunities for some nature photography as well.

It's a quiet place to walk and relax with your friends or family for a picnic. Dogs are very welcomed and there's a lot of trees if you don't like to stay under the sun too much. There's a little river that I don't know if it's ok to swim. It's not that beautiful but it's a nice green spot for the neighborhood.

We love this park for it's big open play space. There's a stream, big trees, an area to make a stick fort, and a playground with plenty of room to room around. I take care of a 12 & 8 year old. This is a perfect place for them to read and run and explore. I also take care of a 2.5 year old boy.

This is a great place for the kids! Local spot for kids in the neighborhood. It has a large open area to run, good sized playground for the little ones, a stream to calm yourself, some trees for climbing, and a nice rope/tire swing.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
