Confirmed from Cylburn Arboretum's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“It’s a peaceful environment, and the recent renovations have made the space even more interactive for all ages.”

I recently battled breast cancer, and it has added to my anxiety. Getting out of the house has been a chore, but coming here and walking the grounds and feeling that peace that surpasses all understanding has ministered to my spirit...it to me is a nurturing place to find that beauty and peace for the soul.

I come here at least a few times a month. This is very close to my condo. It’s a great place to come for a lovely walk. It’s beautiful in the fall, and I am so excited now that spring flowers are beginning to come in. But I even enjoyed walking here in the dead of winter. Also a great place to walk a dog.

We really our enjoyed our mid-afternoon walk on the grounds of the Cylburn Arboretum. May is a good time to see late flowering dogwood, purple and white alliums, and the first peonies! The formal gardens will be better later in the year as they rely heavily on annuals for color and form...

My hubby and I finally visited the other day and we loved it! Well laid out and blazed trails. They have maps you can take by their map near the parking lot. Lots of parking. It feels very tranquil here. We look forward to many walks here in the future.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
