Confirmed from Summit Park District's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Summit Park District
“The disc golf course here used to be somewhat of a wreck, but they really put the work in to clean it up and make it a lot nicer.”
“Jocelyn is a great help with getting program to run without a hitch!”
“Love this Simple Nature Trail, in the far west of the park , Probably 1 mile or so around , This park is clean and dog friendly”
Enjoy teaching yoga at this place! Room is quiet and comfortable. Jocelyn is a great help with getting program to run without a hitch! Would like to try their dog park area and also take the kids to the playground there
Great place for walking, running, rollerblading, etc. Has open fields, soccer fields, skatepark, tennis and basketball courts. Awesome for hill sprints, too. The village recently repaved the trails, but took out equipment from WorldTrail, which includes dip bars, ladder, monkey bars, etc.
This is one of my favorite parks. It has a bit of everything. It has a decent size dog park, a running trail that seems like if you are in the woods, and a HUGE field where u can play soccer. It also has a jungle gym playa area for the kids, a basketball court and a tennis court all next to each other.
I really like the park because you're able to surround yourself with nature on the trails... only issue is the basketball courts are cracked a bit and the rims are leaning and seem to be different hieghts.heights.. but still love it

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
