Confirmed from Sunset Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Small neighborhood green space featuring 2 shaded playgrounds, picnic areas, and a walking trail.
What runners say about Sunset Park
“It's clean and safe the floor is made of a sponge like material so if the children fall they won't experience bad injury”
“The large climbing structure in the center of the park looks entertaining and new shade covers were added to protect kids playing from the sun.”
One thing I noticed while exploring Hallandale is that is has some amazing parks. In 2009 Hallandale opened the small neighborhood Sunset Park. The city purchased property that had previously been a residence in May of that year.
Such a nice little neighbourhood park. It was recently remodeled with all new equipment. Well maintained by the city, keeping it nice and clean. If you have little ones, try going when the older kids are at school as it can get a little crazy when all the teenagers start running around in the late afternoon

Trail conditions & character
“The large climbing structure in the center of the park looks entertaining and new shade covers were added to protect kids playing from the sun.”
“Shades of orange and yellow as you would see in a sunset were used as the color scheme for the new play equipment and a rubber floor surface was installed making it ADA accessible.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
