Confirmed from Sunset Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
City park offering a mini train, merry-go-round, basketball courts, a boat ramp & picnic shelters.
What runners say about Sunset Park
Nice place to walk, bike, or picnic... I chose to kayak along the river. There's a boat ramp at the far end..
Awesome time for next to nothing, costwise. The only bummer, was while we were there, the train stopped running while it was just us and my 4 y/o grandson was heartbroken. He LOVES trains. Overall a great place to hangout, stay cool, for a minimal cost.
I enjoyed walking that park and seeing all them different animals they made artificially. Lol. My daughter could tell me all the animals see saw.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
