Confirmed from Sunset Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Sunset Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (151 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“It's a nice park with a clean bathroom and a fun theme.”

Great park for walking, picnicking, little cookouts or tailgate gatherings!

★★★★★ — Sarina , Nov 2024

One of the nicest park in Romeoville area to take your dog for a walk. If you don't have a dog, but you still want to go there, don't worry, the park is friendly for walks, jogging, or bicycle riding.

★★★★★ — Rafal , Aug 2018

Super clean. I like how our kids can play at a safe distance while the parents can chat comfortably under shade at picnic tables. I want to go back with my wife and just walk around a bit.

★★★★★ — Vic , Jul 2018

Bathroom ( but no running water) and paved path is nice. Playground is great, with two separate features for different ages.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 5 mentions

“Nice park, play lot with equipment, open field, and a restroom of the old style disposal system.”
