Confirmed from Sunset Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park along the Big Blue River, with playgrounds, picnic areas and bike trails.
What runners say about Sunset Park
“Clean restrooms & so much to do for everyone”
“It is a beautiful place, you can spend a good time with your family, take pictures, walk, ride bike, play with your pets.”
“Beautiful peaceful ✌️ lots of land for the children to run ans play.”
We got there about 5 pm. Ate some sandwiches before walking down to see the river. There was a sandy area beside the water the kids picked up shells. My son rolled up his pants legs and went wading in the water.
This place was perfect for a cookout. We had 4 little ones with us and we were at a shelter that had bathrooms and playground right there. It's limited traffic with a biking trail. Everyone was very clean. We had a large amount of beds swarming us but they didn't sing you if you just let them be.
Awesome place to walk around, play with kids and fish. The big blue river runs next to the park and there is also a boat ramp to launch a canoe or kayak. I would not recommend using any type of two boat as the river most days is way too shallow.
It is a beautiful place, you can spend a good time with your family, take pictures, walk, ride bike, play with your pets. I met it in a rainy afternoon of winter. Maybe in summer I would enjoy it much more
