Confirmed from Sunset Point Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Awesome park lots of room to run walk use the outdoor gym, chill or bring lunch and sit in the shade or take the kids to the playground!”

Sunset park is awesome! Covered and lots of great things for the kids to play with. It's under construction as of this writing 11/13/22 but the park is open. There's a parking lot and then you walk around. It appears that a skatepark is being put in here.

It a great place for just a get together or a party! Uou can rent a pavilion and has a grill. The bathrooms were very clean. There's a playground for the kids to play. There's even a walk route if you want to put in some exercise.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Sunset Point Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
