Confirmed from Sunset Pond's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular green space for walks, biking and picnics, with a playground and a pond.
What runners say about Sunset Pond
“All-in-all another well-maintained and attractive Burnsville park.”
“There are a lot of beautiful butterflies and a lot of milkweed where you can see monarch caterpillars.”
“Still one of my favorite places to run, but it lacks shade on the trail when sun is high due to distance of trees from trail.”
Such a beautiful and tranquil place. Enjoy coming here for the walk around the pond. It’s well maintained and clean. The asphalt path is in great shape. Lots of birds enjoying the water and vegetation.
Still one of my favorite places to run, but it lacks shade on the trail when sun is high due to distance of trees from trail. Trail is in good repair. Playground has a small variety of items but no shade in the play area. One out-house is available for a bathroom.
It is a nice walking path. There are houses on one side and a pond on the other. It takes about 35 minutes to walk around the entire pond. There are gazebos and benches scattered around the path. There is a playground for the children. There is a grill as well. The only bathroom I saw was a porter- potty.
Best place to come for a peaceful walk... Go skateboarding, rollerblading, longboarding, ride any type of bicycle around the pond.. Have some Fun and go around more than a few times..enjoy the different type of ducks and birds. Also a Hidden spot for Bass and baby pikes for fishing... hidden gem in Burnsville.
