Confirmed from Szot Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space with a play area, spray ground, pool & trails, plus courts/fields for several sports.
What runners say about Szot Park
“Very well maintained park, with a nice playground for the kids and lots of space to play games!”
“My daughter had a great time met new friends beautiful bark”
Always love this place. A large park with multiple entrances, areas to park, areas to sit, you can picnic, play ball, there's a small frog/goose pond, lots of room to walk! Plenty of activities with a basketball court, playground, not sure the status of the bocce court and they took the pool out....
I've been here many times. Szot park is a unique place. There's a big entrance from the big Front Street in Chicopee. There's a giant tank there on display. Then you come up to a state of the art football field which Chicopee High School plays on though their school is a ways away from the park.
Very relaxed family friendly park. Good for walking or just relaxing at the picnic table.
Trail conditions & character
“If you are one of the people walking their dogs there, or if you are riding your bike nearby, please don't disturb me.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
