Confirmed from Rivers Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly grassy space featuring baseball fields, a skate park and picnic areas.
What runners say about Rivers Park
I love to workout here. It's peaceful, always enough room for everyone, it's safe for everybody. It's a great place to have a walk, run , or workout. BEST PARK IN CHICOPEE!!!!! Holyoke is a close second.....
They have a baseball field. A pool, a pavilion 2 or 3 grills. A skateboard park, a fitness part to exercise, a walk/bike trail. They also have a playground for the kids. Just wish it was bigger. They have a restroom but it's always locked.
I've been going there since I was a kid and I'm 70 so it's great is my opinion. But I don't really like all the geese! They just poop everywhere. Really hard to walk around. By the time you leave. You'll be 2 in taller 🤣 but anyways, this time of year it's probably not the most exciting place to go.
Trail conditions & character
“The only problem I have is when people bring their dog, they usually don't pick up the dogs poop, so be careful where you walk”
“Cute open park, plenty of parking in the area, includes splash pad, playground and outdoor calisthenics area.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
