I’ve been at this wonderful park both early in the morning and towards closing time. You get to see wild life and walk around in a quiet place most of the time. I got to learn that this is a passive park, and therefore, when the weather is bad, the park is consciously shut down as a safety precaution.
I just walked the blue trail (one mile) and I would call it a moderate difficulty trail. Short, but a few steep hills. Nice scenery and very quiet. There are several picnic tables, even a few along the trail. The only disappointment was that I didn't see any running water.
Tanners Park has only been open about 2 years in Jackson county so for now you can pretty much have the place to yourself.I wouldn't count on it staying that way though.It is a pretty big park with a few cleared areas but mostly it is as nature made it,stunning!
It was a moderate little hike - as always, be prepared for varied terrain. I enjoyed the quiet & dipping my feet in the creek.
