Confirmed from Tantiusques' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“The loop is easy to follow and well marked.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

It felt good hiking there. A good vibe. We did a short little loop, just beating the rain. I thought the mines were a little spooky. I've seen too many horror movies! We do a lot of traveling to pick up and deliver products, so we try to hit a trail nearby. We will return.

This is a great trail with lots of history. There is an old sign that says that the Indians used the graphite from the formations for face paint at one point in time. The first cave you come across is barred off. We walked up to the bars and it was very marshy, there was a frog jumping in front of the grate.

Very cool, easy hike in the winter, fun to see the old mine and the woods were beautiful in the snow.

Another amazing walking trail I've found in the area! This is a quick little hike, shouldn't tale more than 20min but well worth it. Beautiful veiws and a little bit of terrain. Recommended any time of year.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🔁 Loop trail 6 mentions

“It's only about a mile long loop but seeing the old mine was pretty cool, not something you see everyday.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
