Confirmed from Techny Basin Reservoir's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Techny Basin Reservoir
“We saw many ducks, great blue herons, egrets and other beautiful birds.”
“Nice area to walk around and see the wildlife in the area Very quiet here”
Great nature, great 1.3 Mile Trail. Very quiet and beautiful. I love it.
The pavement is still fresh and now the benches were installed in a few spots facing different directions where one can enjoy sunrise or sunset, watching herons swooping to land or under a shade in a warm day hearing the chirpings of sparrows. A peaceful sactuary.

Spectacular prairie wildflowers. We saw many ducks, great blue herons, egrets and other beautiful birds. Wide, crushed rock trail encircles the entire reservoir. Many people were out enjoying the scenery and weather. Not from from The Grove, so easy to do both in a day. Bring drinking water.
Trail conditions & character
“Nice area to walk around and see the wildlife in the area Very quiet here”
“There is a very small parking lot and the area is not well marked so you may pass it a few times before you spot the river and the trail.”
