“There was plenty of parking and the trail head was clearly marked with a map of the various hiking options.”
Great fall hiking trail. The Front Royal visitor center recommended this hike when we asked what would we could do other than a hike off of Skyline drive (peak fall leaves weekend creates parking problems). This was an excellent suggestion. The trail is off the parking lot of the Valley Health hospital.
Nice that the hospital put some hiking trails in here. You can easily do between 2:00 and 5 mi. I would just caution people that it is a little bit rocky.
Perfect short little afternoon hike with beautiful views. Huge parking lot at hospital. Trailhead is right there.
Very nice area! However, the trail would be tortuous for puppers due to the rockiness🫣
