Confirmed from Eastham Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil park with three athletic fields, a paved riverside trail & dog park, plus a boat launch.

Beautiful, huge dog park! Love this place! Park in the lot on the left at the bottom of the hill, then take a walk along the river a few hundred yards, past the soccer field and playground. You will come first to the small dog park, then a little further is the large dog park.
Awesome park for a stroll along the shenandoah river or to take your dogs to one of the two dog parks (separate small and large dog run areas. There is a boat landing and playground for the kids. The path is good for biking as well.
A great place for family activities. Shaded, paved path for walking or biking along the river, and a large dog play area are great year round. River access for swimming, tubing, fishing is great for summer with plenty of shaded picnic tables. There is a small playground area suitable for younger children.
As described in other posts, this little piece of heaven has easy access from the main road. It offers picnic tables near a small playground, there's shade and restrooms, and a beautiful, easy trail to bicycle or walk on. The water here is awesome.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
