Confirmed from The High Ground Mountain Bike Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about The High Ground Mountain Bike Preserve
The high grounds bike preserve is a great place to build your mountain biking skill wether you want to take it up a notch and speed down lazy boy hill, catch air or just casual ride around the rough rider loop through the peaceful woodland. With scenic features hiking and riding quickly becomes a joy here.
The Homestead Trail and the Roughrider Loop trail are both good two-way trails. The downhill "hub" gives you a choice between three different downhill-only trails. These trails can be walked or ridden. The Homestead trail has some cool ruins/ foundations. There are some cool caves and features on the downhill trails.
Although I am not a mountain biker and can not speak to the thrills to be had on the trail, I can say I would expect no less than an enjoyable experience given the condition of all the park facilities attached to the trail and the number of riders I watch on the hillside above the ball fields.
Great trails for riders of all skill levels. A wonderful addition to SW Missouri. Thank you to all who made it possible.
