Confirmed from The Kit Carson Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“I enjoyed the scenic area and for it's historically known landmark.”

Established in 1993, the Kit Carson Trail is designated by a painted BLUE LINE and the “Talking Houses” share their ninety-second narratives that provided insight and tales about the capital city and some of its more colorful personalities.

This was so cool. All the homes built in 1864 with a self guided tour. Google Kit Carson trail and walking audio tour. Made it even better

★★★★★ — Peni , Oct 2023

I enjoyed the scenic area and for it's historically known landmark. I like.

★★★★★ — Marisol , Apr 2023

I personally really like to walk around here to see what small ships are open and it is usually not a busy area. I use to play Ingress, which is the precursor of Pokemon Go, where there is a lot of spots that is walking distance to play on.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
