Confirmed from The Preserve at McCormick Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Lots of shade and places to workout out as they have workout stations along the trails.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Very peaceful with a nice pond and a fishing area.”

Stunning in every season. We spend most of our time here on the trails or at the pond, but there is also a great playground, and a spacious pavilion for picnics. Bluebonnets in March-April.

My wife and kids love this park. We go for the trails and birds. I go for the fishing lol. If you're a pokemon go player, there are plenty of stops and gyms along the trails. If you like to fish like I do, then the creeks and the 2 ponds are where you need to be

There was so much to explore here and the kids took full advantage. I loved that they had warning signs out for people to be aware that there maybe snakes on the trail. The park was very shaded for the kids to play on. I like that fact because the surface of the playground would not burn them.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
