Confirmed from The Ravine's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about The Ravine

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (130 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“The sound of the rushing water enhanced the beautiful scenery , the people were very nice too.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“I had a wonderful peaceful day here doing photography at the waterfalls with my Nikon camera.”

A nice recently redone with nice paths and lots of new plants. There are quite a few places to get close to the stream and take nice pictures.

Excellent for birders! Children too will love exploring this space in Central Park. Really cool area for romantics or lovers to find a semi-private shady area in the park but keep in mind & be aware that sometimes you'll run into a creep or two so be ready to stare them away

★★★★★ — Juan , Aug 2019

A surprising find in the city. Not too far off the main walking path, it’s worth the detour. After all, how often do you get to see a NYC waterfall?

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 12 mentions

“You'll lose sight of the city scape, meandering along a stream, and spotting two famous arches, a waterfall and unparalleled forested beauty.”
