Confirmed from The Wilderness Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Educational center with hiking trails and a wildlife observation room surrounded by thousands of acres of protected land.
What runners say about The Wilderness Center
“The property is beautiful, including sheep, hot tubs, a cold plunge, and sauna!”
“Peaceful and serene place to visit and ponder still today.”
If you're interested in getting out for a beautiful hike. Than this place is for you. Totally awesome. Great for kids. The out door experience at the playground is a chance for the little ones to expand on their mudpie making skills. It is also recommended to make sure you take a few minutes to make your way inside.
Very nice place! They have several walking trails through the woods, a planetarium, a rock garden, and a place for kids to play that is really neat! Plenty of places to have a picnic, either on the ground with a blanket or by using one of their many picnic tables. The grounds are very well kept.
Love coming here to walk. So peaceful and not busy. Many different trails. Walked 3 miles and spent around 1.5 hours. Have been coming for years and love visiting when I can.
This is a really nice place to visit if you enjoy nature and the outdoors. We came here for the Nature Fest and Foto Fest. The number of vendors was small but there are many other things to see and do. If you are into hiking, there are a number of short trails.
