Confirmed from Thompson Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Amazing park, always fun to come by. Large park with lots of green areas and lots to do. Lots of trees and shade and the grass is very green! It's also very clean and well maintained. Picnic tables and paved trails all throughout the park.

This is a beautiful, peaceful place. There are numerous playgrounds for the kiddos with large fishing ponds and plenty of shade trees. The Amarillo Zoo and Wonderland Water Park are also snugged in to this park. The park is kept very clean and the groundwork also includes nature trails.

We love this park. Friendly people walk every morning. City park workers are friendly. It’s the most beautiful park in Amarillo, imo. Tons of trees and shade, all kinds of bird watching, a long walking trail, several playgrounds, a small lake, numerous picnic areas, a zoo, frisbee golf, Wonderland, bbq areas and a…

Beautiful park with large trees, which makes for lots of shade. The only ‘bad’ thing is the stagnant water around the little lake.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 10 mentions

“Wonderland is here there is multiple dog parks, and it has one of the best frisbee golf courses in the Texas Panhandle!”
