Confirmed from Ellwood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Leafy public park with green expanses, beach volleyball courts, a dog run & picnic tables.
What runners say about Ellwood Park
“Clean and open neighborhood park.”
“Few shade but it’s just a regular park I.”
“The park is peaceful and a place to relax or to bring your dogs”
This park is huge! They even have sand volleyball courts. There is a senior citizen exercise area as well. It seemed quiet while we were there. A few people walking around and some were sunbathing. There is a playground and also plenty of beautiful grass for the kids to run around on.
This is obviously a much older city park. It is midwinter, so nothing is green. It did have some nice activities. Sidewalk was fairly nice for walking. The city needs to put a little more time and effort into maintaining
Large park fairly well kept. Senior exercise/fitness equipment on East side. On West side, kids playground and volley ball courts. Swinging benches throughout on walking path.
Loved it. Beautiful 74 degree morning the day after a storm. Heaven. Nice paths and an outdoor gym. Doesn’t want for more, just more pups in the area to play with.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says

- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
