We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Thorpe Creek Natural Area yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Thorpe Creek Natural Area
Out of the way natural park/wetlands. There is a large open field and some paths through the woods to explore Thorpe Creek.
It's very short. Maybe half a mile. It has probably 3 or 4 open fields. Good for a picnic. Wouldn't really call this a hike or a trail.
The picnic area was well maintained. Trails can be a little steep, but I managed with a four year old in tow this time. Creek was a big hit for my teenagers. My teenagers claimed the hill with their friends, while many others were using it to exercise on. Tree forts are nice and well maintained.
Lots of fish every where (bass, lots of sun fish, creek chub, catfish) shallow low enough to weighed(walk in the water) use worms or very small lures about an inch long.
