This is a great place to escape all of the densely packed development that is starting to happen in the area. You can get lost in nature, it’s like a whole different beautiful natural Florida world here! Bonus points is that you can get a good walk in at the same time and stay active.
Very decent place to go for hiking, biking, or animal watching. Big easy parking, easy to find, right next to the boat tours guys. Signage right at the front. Raised gravel wide walking path. Very level. Water everywhere, different eco zones are evident. Fish were viewable from the path, we saw one gator.
There are both loops and point to point trails that go to south to palm bay and fellsmere. Not much shade, bring water, be prepared unless its early morning or late evenings. Riders and runners are far few and in between. Its hard packed gravel. 28mm tubeless tires and wider should be okay to withstand puncture.
Me and my family had a great time doing this trail. Took us about an hour to do 2miles as we were talking our time. Stopped in a little clearing and had a nice picnic. Walked back and all in all enjoyed it. Gonna go back in a couple months and go deeper and camp out for the weekend.
