Not much to see here but a lovely place with beautiful foliage and if you do the hike you can get to a nice marsh with a viewing tower. The trails are well-marked, have shade, some benches and are well-maintained. Pretty easy walking but if it’s hot you will be a little uncomfortable.
This place was absolutely beautiful and so worth the four hour drive. The trails were great with a few small inclines. I met a few great people walking the trails. My day felt complete after spending a few hours walking and taking pictures.
The 2 entrances Spanish Pond (red) and Theodore Roosevelt (blue) are 1.7 miles apart using the fastest route. The scenic trail (black) is a loop that takes you to a beautiful beachy peninsula with a raised viewing platform.
Fabulous visitor center. National park stamps. Ranger badges. Beautiful displays. Clean restrooms. Picnic pavilion. Gift shop. FREE. Plenty of parking. River overlooks. Trails. A wonderful place to gain some historical knowledge.
