We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Tom Blakeney Jr Hike & Bike Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Tom Blakeney Jr Hike & Bike Trail
“Beautiful, hiking and biking wonderful for family and kids.”
I didn't know this jewel existed at the back of National Oak park. What a beautiful place they created! A lovely trail with a pretty butterfly garden to enjoy. You can enjoy the wildlife, too; herons, cardinals, rabbits, turtles, hawks.....beautiful scenery and critters to view.
Great place for a walk or run while offering an alternative view of the city only seen bu foot. Many things along the trail - train depot, skate park, Oak Park, library, city pool, restaurants, bars - all in the shadows of Mustang Bayou
Yes, it is a short trail. Perfect for someone just getting into biking. 2 streets to cross but not busy streets (most of the time). I use this as the middle portion of my ride now.
I love it I walk this trail every day the only dawn fall is having to cross over two streets which do not have signs saying caution pedestrian crossing !
