Confirmed from Topsmead State Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is one of Litchfield's best kept secrets if you ask me. I go on occasion for walks and to relax & think. There is some gentle slopes, but mainly flat easy walking on sand/gravel paths or mowed fields. There are plenty of resting places (benches) here and there if you are older or have mobility issues.

Beautiful well kept place for a walk, picnic, pictures...or just to be outside w/nature

★★★★★ — Diane , May 2025

Beautiful trails ranging in difficulty - great for kids or walking dogs. Pick a different path each time which is fun for exploring. Plenty of out-houses as well which is nice. In the parking lot they have a little set up with bags for dog poops as well as a receptacle for dog poop only.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
